Existen dos saludos diferenciados el saludo corto y el saludo largo. El saludo corto consiste en las maniobras básicas siguientes:

• Desde una posición de atención inclina la cabeza hacia delante (muestra de respeto al arte del Kenpo).
• Levantamos la cabeza y volvemos a la postura de atención (prestamos atención).
• Traslada tu pie izquierdo hacia las 9:00 a una posición de jinete de meditación (me deshago de los débiles), mientras colocas tu mano izquierda sobre el puño derecho ala altura de la barbilla (escondo mi tesoro).
• Inclinamos de nuevo la cabeza (al abrir una forma, el practicante debe limpiar la mente de cualquier pensamiento externo; al cerrar una forma, el practicante debe reflexionar sobre la ejecución de la forma).
• Levantamos la cabeza de la meditación y realizamos un movimiento circular con ambas manos por encima de la cabeza palmas hacia arriba y, sin perder impulso, arrastra tu pie izquierdo hacia el derecho mientras bajas las manos en arco hasta terminar en posición de atención (yo atraigo a los débiles de vuelta a los fuertes).

El saludo largo se realiza igual que el corto añadiendo las siguientes maniobras:

• Desde la posición de atención, levanta tu puño derecho a la altura de tu pecho (el maestro o el guerrero).
• Camina hacia delante con una cruzada derecha a las 12:00, mientras llevamos el puño derecho al hombro derecho mirando hacia delante, levanta la palma izquierda a la altura del pecho de manera vertical y mirando a la derecha (y el alumno).
• Lleva tu palma izquierda sobre el puño derecho situado a la altura del hombro derecho (el guerrero y el alumno se encuentran).

• Damos un paso izquierdo hacia delante a un gato izquierdo a 45°, mientras empujamos hacia delante ambas manos frente a ti a la altura de la barbilla (y salen a la batalla).

• Gira y une ambas manos dorso contra dorso (espalda con espalda trabajarán juntos).

• Retrocede con una cruzada izquierda y giramos las manos hasta una posición de palmas hacia arriba a la altura del pecho. Llevamos el pie derecho hacia atrás junto con el izquierdo, mientras cerramos los puños y los llevamos a la posición de carga (para devolver el país al pueblo).

A partir de aquí, es la parte nueva que añade el maestro Parker.

• Movemos el pie izquierdo hacia las 9:00 a una posición de jinete de meditación (aquí, nuestra escuela nos golpeamos las piernas con los dorsos de las manos al inicio del círculo que nos lleva al siguiente movimiento), llevamos las manos por encima de la cabeza uniendo los pulgares e índices formando un triángulo (no tengo armas, el ojo que todo lo ve).

• Bajamos las manos a la altura del pecho cubriendo el puño derecho con la mano izquierda a la altura de la barbilla (escondo mi tesoro de Kenpo).

• Continua hacia abajo hasta la altura del pecho tomando posición de rezo con las manos (rezo para que me perdonen por tener que usar mi Kenpo).

• Movimiento circular de las manos como en el saludo corto hasta acabar en posición de atención (cierre del saludo).

• Inclinamos la cabeza (mostramos respeto) y volvemos a la posición de atención.
